The primary purpose of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) program, as expressed in Title IV, Part B, is to support the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools. To ensure that the U.S. Department of Education (ED) is responsive to the needs of State education agencies, ED is pleased to announce the 21st CCLC 2019 Summer Symposium.
We met in Washington, DC, July 17-18, 2019, to discuss the program as well as what practitioners in the field need, what you can show us and how we can work together to improve the 21st CCLC Program. We were joined by State Education Agency (SEA), Local Education Agency (LEA) staff, 21st CCLC Grantees, Evaluators and others for an opportunity to learn together.
